How to Play Ragdoll Hit

Ragdoll Hit is a physics stickman fighter. Punch and kick a ragdoll rival, win by knockout or by launching them off the platform, and keep your streak alive against tougher rivals.

Play Ragdoll Hit

The objective

Beat your rival. Don't get launched off the platform.

Ragdoll Hit is a single-player browser fighting game about spacing and timing. You and a ragdoll rival share a floating platform. Move in, throw a punch or a kick, and read your rival's windup before they hit you back.

You win a round by draining your rival's health bar to zero, or by landing a hit that launches them clean off the edge of the platform. You lose the moment your own health hits zero or you get launched off yourself. There is no clock — the skill is entirely in reading the fight.

The game is free, runs in the browser, and does not require an account. Open play Ragdoll Hit when you want the fight; use this guide when you want the controls, the physics behind every hit, and the habits that keep a streak alive.

Controls

Keyboard, WASD, or the on-screen pad

Movement is continuous; punches and kicks are single presses with a short cooldown, so timing matters more than button speed.

  • Keyboard

    A/D, Arrow keys, W, Space, K

A/D or Left/Right move your stickman; W or Up jumps; Space (or J) throws a punch; Down or K throws a kick. M mutes and unmutes the game at any time.

  • Phone & tablet

    On-screen pad

A thumb pad on the left moves your fighter; Jump, Punch, and Kick buttons sit on the right, sized and spaced for fast taps mid-fight.

The loop

Four steps, repeated every round

Every round follows the same sequence. Understanding it is most of what "getting good" at Ragdoll Hit means.

  1. 1

    Face off

Your stickman and a rival ragdoll square up on a floating platform. Close the distance with A/D or the arrow keys — every step is driven by real physics, so footing and spacing matter.

  2. 2

    Punch and kick

Press Space (or J) to throw a fast punch, and Down or K to sweep a slower, harder kick. Landing a hit deals damage and fires a real physics impulse through your rival’s body.

  3. 3

    Watch them ragdoll

A solid hit breaks your rival’s balance — their limbs go loose and momentum takes over, sending them flailing backward or off their feet exactly like a real ragdoll toy.

  4. 4

    Knockout or ring-out

Win a round by draining your rival’s health bar to zero, or by launching them clean off the edge of the platform for an instant ring-out — the bigger the launch, the bigger the score.

Scoring & losing

How a Ragdoll Hit run is actually scored

The rules stay the same every round. Only the rival's speed and aggression climb as your streak grows.

  • The objective

Beat your rival before they beat you: drain their health bar to zero for a knockout, or land a hit that launches them off the platform for an instant ring-out. Either way, you advance to a tougher rival and your streak grows.

  • Scoring

Winning a round banks a base score plus a bonus for the health you have left and, on a ring-out, a bonus for launch distance. Your total score is the sum across every round of the run — the longer the streak, the higher it climbs.

  • Losing a round

The run ends the instant your own health hits zero or you get launched off the platform. There is no continue — your final score, streak, and best launch distance are recorded and compared to your saved bests.

  • Physics, not animation

Every punch, kick, stumble, and knockdown is computed live by an active-ragdoll physics engine — not a pre-baked animation clip. The exact same hit never plays out quite the same way twice.

Streak mode

One ladder, no difficulty picker

Ragdoll Hit does not split into Easy/Medium/Hard boards. Every rival you beat is replaced by a tougher one, so difficulty is entirely a function of how far your current streak has gone. Full details are on the modes page.

  1. 01 · The only mode — no difficulty picker

    Streak Mode

Ragdoll Hit is one continuous ladder: win a round and the next rival steps up immediately, a little faster and a little more aggressive than the last. There is no Easy/Medium/Hard split to choose from — everyone climbs the same ladder.

  2. 02 · Health, speed, and distance

    Scoring per round

Each win banks a base score plus a bonus for the health you had left. Finish a round with a ring-out instead of a knockout and you also bank a distance bonus for how far you launched your rival.

  3. 03 · One life, then it counts

    Ending a run

A run ends the moment you’re knocked out or rung out. Your final score, round reached, and longest single launch distance are compared against your saved bests the instant the run ends.

Common mistakes

Why most streaks end early

Ragdoll Hit losses are usually spacing errors, not bad luck. These are the patterns that end a promising streak.

  • Trading blows in the open

Standing toe-to-toe and mashing punch is the fastest way to lose a health race against a faster rival. Step in, land a hit, and reset your spacing instead of camping in range.

  • Ignoring the edges

A hit that would just stagger you in the middle of the platform can ring you out entirely near an edge. Track where you are, not just where your rival is.

  • Button-mashing punches

Punches are fast but light. Spamming them without a kick mixed in rarely closes out a round — a well-timed kick both hits harder and knocks back further.

  • Attacking on cooldown

Every swing has a short recovery window before you can attack again. Throwing a hit into that window does nothing but leave you standing still — watch your own rhythm, not just your rival’s.

Strategy habits

Tips to extend your streak

Treat these as habits, not shortcuts. The rules never change; your reads do. For a deeper walkthrough, see the full tips page.

  • Punches are fast but light — kicks hit harder and knock back further but leave you open longer. Mix both.
  • Watch for your rival’s windup: their arm or leg pulls back a beat before it strikes, and that’s your cue to step back or counter.
  • Fight near the middle of the platform. Getting cornered near an edge means one clean hit can ring you out.
  • A knocked-down rival is still dangerous the instant they recover — don’t walk into their wake-up swing.
  • Kicks knock back further than punches, which makes them the better finisher when your rival is already near an edge.
  • Every round gets a faster, more aggressive rival. Bank easy hits early and save your reads for the harder rounds.

Where you can play

Same fight on phone and desktop

Ragdoll Hit runs in any modern browser. You do not install an app from a store. If two devices disagree about your best score, that is expected: progress never leaves the browser you played in.

  • Desktop browsers

Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari all run Ragdoll Hit with no plugin. Use the keyboard for the tightest timing on punches, kicks, and jumps.

  • Phones and tablets

Ragdoll Hit is touch-ready: an on-screen movement pad and Jump/Punch/Kick buttons sit right where your thumbs already are, sized for fast fights.

  • Progress on this device

Best score, best streak, and best launch distance live in local browser storage. They stay until you reset them or clear site data, and they do not sync across devices.
